Favorite Finds SwatchPop! Co-Founder Gets Summer Porch Makeover 06/30/2017 Share When SwatchPop! co-founder, Jessica McRae, was ready to makeover her screened porch, she turned to SwatchPop! "This porch has been an eyesore for years," says McRae. "It's a great space and the perfect place for our family of five to relax and lounge, but I just don't have the time to make a plan!" she complains. Luckily, she has easy access to a whole pool of professional interior designers with SwatchPop! Just like any client, she uploaded photos of her space, provided some details about her project, and shared links to her Pinterest boards. "The amazing folks at Leisure Made gave me this incredible Blakely outdoor sectional and it was love at first sight! It was just the motivation I needed to transform this space into the outdoor oasis I knew it could be! I'm a big fan of clean, straight lines, and I'm a total sucker for neutrals with pops of color," McRae says. "I wanted this porch to be a true reflection of my style and an extension of our home, rather than this neglected space that felt more like an after-thought," she explains. Her SwatchPop! designer, Amy P., agreed that the Blakely sectional by Leisure Made was the perfect piece for her screened porch. "The leggy look of the sectional helps us achieve a more open, airy feel for the porch and the x-detail on the side is just gorgeous!," explains Amy. "The sectional is a much better use of space for the porch. The old furniture felt heavy and bulky, and the space felt too crowded and dark. With the sectional, there's a better flow to the space. It's just so light, bright, and comfortable now," Jessica says. This piece comes nested in a single box with zero assembly. Bonus! And if your space isn't quite as large, one of the pieces can be removed and used as a single armless chair instead. The round hammered metal coffee table adds more visual contrast, as well as functional storage to the space (perfect for hiding the kids' toys and throw blankets). Layered rugs and a macrame swing introduce incredible texture and provide a cozy, comfortable feel. "That swing is everyone's new favorite place to lounge," says McRae. "All three kids can fit at one time, if they're able to convince me to get out," she jokes. Bright pops of blue are just the perfect amount of color for a soothing space that also feels bright and alive. "I'm absolutely in love with our new space!
