The Solution

Meredith,

Beautiful start to your new home, congratulations! Your inspiration photos were very helpful with this project. My goal for this design was to incorporate as many elements from your decor shop as possible, add warmth, texture and a bit of glam for luxury. The overall budget did exceed the $450, but can easily be brought lower by choosing other alternatives in the shopping list. Enjoy!

option 1

The wall in your entry is very long and this console table is very long as well (especially for the price). It adds warmth with a bit of gray in the wood which also creates a beautiful contrast with the dark flooring. The shelf at the bottom is really nice for baskets underneath because it gets them off the floor and makes them appear taller. The lamps incorporate a big of gold from the mirror. The art leaning against the mirror provides a vintage look which pairs perfectly with the rug runner. Coffee table books (or hardcover chapter books) help create another set of layers to style off of.

The perfect shade to warm up the room and brings in the orange/pink tones from the runner.

These are the perfect color for this table and gives plenty of storage to hide stuff in.

Another great source of texture. The small bowl acts more of a trinket dish for keys, phones, mail, etc.

option 2

For more of an asymmetrical look, do the set of large/small baskets on the bottom and break up the set of brass boxes. This still visually covers the empty bottom but gives a bit of interest. The other change-up is the decorative object which adds a little modern touch.

option 3

Another great option would be a sideboard. These provide a ton of storage and makes the entire wall feel more visually heavy. This particular sideboard has an interesting texture to the front to make a statement.

option 4

This console table is the shortest option of all the tables. The white top gives you a nice, crisp tabletop to style with while still adding the warmth in the legs. Skip the baskets on this one and add a velvet bench. The velvet adds so much softness and contrast to the table.
