Bedroom #1 from Jackson and Leroy was the winner! Read on to see how we approached this inspiration room and find tips on how to get this look in your home. The trick to decorating using inspiration photos isn't to copy the design exactly. Instead, the key to using inspiration photos is to incorporate some of the details from the inspiration that will complement your home.

This bedroom is traditional and sophisticated and makes a wonderful inspiration photo for upcoming bedroom makeovers. Each item in this room is beautiful and all work together to create a stunning first impression. A bedroom should be designed to reflect how a person wants to feel in a space and this inspiration room makes you feel important and welcomed.

Neutral bedding is a must for this space because it helps create a calm feeling and allows all of the other items in the room to really pop. Purchase bedding with a small pattern and use a variety of different colored neutrals in the bedding and pillows for more interest and dimension in the room.

Now that we have the bed and bedding taken care of, follow these 3 tips to help finish off the space: 1) brass wall lighting, 2) skirted furniture and 3) mirrored accent pieces. Brass wall lighting is a decorating must to achieve this look because it provides a classic and sophisticated touch. Use these for bedside lighting, above wall art, and sitting or reading areas. Next, furniture with skirted bottoms makes the room feel and look more intimate and cozy. Use this for all upholstered pieces like ottomans, accent chairs and benches. Last, mirrored accent pieces provide an elegant touch. Pick 2-3 pieces in the room to be mirrored like the nightstands, accent tables, frames, trays, table lamps or the bench.
